My very first post on this fantastic forum was just after New year. I had been so lucky as to have recieved a new sub date from my wife for Xmas.
Reason I posted was that the "credit card" guarantee that came with the watch was for a datejust model 116233. You guys were very helpfull, thank you and as you guesed this was a mix up at the ADs.
I have contacted the AD severel times since and they have assured me they would sort it out.
I walked in there yesterday on a trip to town and spoke to the boss. He told me the original guarantee could not be found and Rolex HQ refused point blank to issue a duplicate. To cut a long story short without any argument he offered me either a substansial discount or a brand new watch. I chose the latter and am wearing the original until the replacement comes.
I was comforted that Rolex stick their guns and that my AD in Stavanger Norway looks after his customers.
